The Port of Rotterdam Authority (Havenbedrijf Rotterdam  N.V. ) is developing the definitive world-class European port together with its partners. Our Rotterdam port, which covers some 10,500 hectares, is a major factor in the national and regional economy. This port is a hub in the international goods flows and a business location for industry and logistics services. As manager of the port, we lease sites to businesses. We also provide the infrastructure of waterways, roads, quays and other services for the users of the port area. Some 36,000 deep sea ships and 133,000 inland waterway vessels call at the port each year. Our company is responsible for the efficient, safe and reliable handling of all deep sea and inland shipping, without making any concessions to safety or the environment.
