‘World Ports for a better climate' is the title of the World Ports Climate Conference that will be held on 9 - 11 July 2008 in Rotterdam
Climate change needs port-city approach
As port authorities and cities we share the
responsibility with our business partners to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions and improve the air quality in ports. We are convinced that
international cooperation between ports, (port) cities and port
business communities is essential to achieve this objective and that
the time for action has come now. The involvement of leaders of the
world's most important ports is of the utmost importance to give a
clear message and to ensure the broadest support for clean ports and
clean shipping.
